FRIENDSHIP – State Rep. Jeffry Evangelos has endorsed U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud in his campaign for governor.
Evanagelos, an Independent legislator from Friendship, announced his support on Nov. 6.
“Mike Michaud will make a terrific governor of our state,” Evangelos said in his endorsement. “He has the two characteristics that are sorely lacking in the current administration in Augusta: humility and common sense. He’s a good listener, thoughtful and respectful. It will be such a breath of fresh air when Michaud is elected as our next governor.”
Evangelos represents House District 49, which includes Cushing, Friendship, Union and Warren, and he serves on the Inland Fisheries & Wildlife and Ethics committees.
“Just imagine: No more insults and crude language, real leadership and a healthy respect for bipartisan cooperation, which Mike has demonstrated time and again in Washington,” Evangelos said of a Michaud victory in 2014.
“I want to thank Jeff for his strong endorsement and support,” Michaud said. “My campaign is about bringing people together – regardless of political party – to move Maine forward and to make sure Maine has an economy that works for the middle class and small businesses. I know if I’m elected, Jeff will be a strong partner in helping to advance those critical goals.”
